5K race in the bright summer night

By Iceland Review

The race „Vatnsmýrarhlaupið“ was held earlier tonight in Reykjavik. The night was one of those lovely bright sunny summer nights with only a light breeze and the perfect running temperature.

The race is hosted by the Sri Chinmoy marathon team in Iceland and has been held for 20 years. It is an unmissable part of the summer racing season in Reykjavik and a great opportunity to test your speed for the upcoming Reykjavik Marathon.

The race distance is 5K and the start is by the City Hall next to the Pond (Tjörnin). The course is fairly flat and takes you past University of Iceland, the domestic airport and along the Pond.

The winners of the race were Arnar Pétursson and Anna Berglind Pálmadóttir.
